About this center
Ari Atoll Whale Shark Center operates from Dhigurah Island in the South Ari Atoll, the world's most reliable location for whale shark encounters. A resident population of juvenile whale sharks feeds along the atoll's outer reef year-round, making sightings possible on over 95% of excursions.
Beyond whale sharks, the South Ari Atoll delivers exceptional reef diving. Thilas (submerged pinnacles) attract grey reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, and schooling fusiliers. The house reef offers unlimited shore diving with turtles and nurse sharks. Manta rays visit cleaning stations from December to April.
PADI courses from Open Water through Advanced, plus freediving for whale shark snorkel excursions. The center follows the Maldives whale shark identification project, contributing to conservation research. Nitrox included in dive packages.
