Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DiveOne Club ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, syncs, and protects your information when you use the DiveOne app and our website (diveoneclub.com).

What the DiveOne app collects: When you record dives, the app collects and stores your dive logs (depth profiles sampled at 1 Hz, dive time and duration, water temperature, dive mode, and derived metrics), GPS/location data for the dive entry point, and readings from your Apple Watch device sensors (depth gauge and temperature sensor). If you create an account, we also collect account information such as your email address and a user identifier used to authenticate you.

Apple Health (HealthKit): With your permission, DiveOne reads underwater workouts and underwater depth from Apple Health to import dives into your logbook, and writes completed Apple Watch dives to Apple Health as underwater workouts, including workout duration. During a dive, Apple Watch can read heart rate with your permission and associate it with the workout. DiveOne does not write underwater-depth or water-temperature samples to HealthKit. Apple Health data stays on your devices (and in iCloud Health if you enable it) unless you separately choose DiveOne account sync. DiveOne uses Apple Health data solely to record, import, and show your dive log. We never use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it or disclose it to third parties. You can turn off DiveOne's Health access at any time in the Health app under Sharing > Apps.

On-device and account storage: DiveOne records dives locally on Apple Watch and iPhone, and an account is not required for on-device recording. If you sign in, your account information, profile, and logbook sync through DiveOne servers so account features can work across supported surfaces. Account-linked data is retained until you delete it; deleting your account removes the associated dive logs, planner data, and account information from our systems, subject to limited operational and legal retention where required.

Optional iPhone and Apple Watch product analytics: On first open, before DiveOne creates an analytics identifier or captures product events, it shows a disclosure. After you acknowledge that disclosure, anonymous usage statistics are on by default; you can continue with analytics off or turn them off at any time in Settings, and DiveOne works fully without them. When on, DiveOne records only bounded product interactions and coarse reliability outcomes, such as screen and onboarding steps, sign-in, import, export, sync and Watch-operation results, plus normalized crash or hang classes. Watch events are relayed through the paired iPhone. These events use one separate random app-installation identifier that is not derived from a device or advertising identifier, is never linked to your account or identity, and resets if you delete the app. They contain no Apple Health or HealthKit values, heart rate, depth, dive profiles or dive duration, temperature, location, notes, free text, file contents, raw diagnostic payloads, email, account data or URLs. The analytics is first-party, not used for tracking or advertising, and not shared or sold. Raw events and restricted redacted diagnostics are retained for no more than 90 days; identifier-free daily counts may be retained for no more than 24 months. Turning analytics off immediately stops collection, clears the iPhone and Watch queues, and requests deletion of the installation's raw events.

Your rights and choices: You can export your dive history at any time (CSV, plus UDDF or JSON backup) and delete individual dives or your entire account from the app. You may use on-device dive recording without an account; account, web-planner, support, and beta-program features ask for explicit consent before storing data in the cloud. Tracking Policy: We do not employ global untargeted tracking. Product analytics for this web experience are consent-gated where required, and operational logs and service telemetry are limited to what is needed to run, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs.

Operator Page Pro inquiries: On an enabled operator catalog page, you may enter your name, dive dates, interest, and a message. Before submission, we ask for explicit consent and identify the operator that will receive the inquiry. DiveOne stores the inquiry privately in that operator's managed inbox. When you continue, the same fields are passed to WhatsApp to prefill a message; the operator receives them through WhatsApp only if you send that message. The request address is used transiently for an in-memory one-hour abuse limit and is not stored with the inquiry. These pages use first-party page-view and form-submission counters only. Third-party analytics and advertising trackers are suppressed on the two approved pilot pages and the account area that displays the private operator inbox.

Third-Party Operations: In instances where external services are integrated, data transmissions are scoped strictly to the functional minimum required to complete the integration. We do not sell your personal data.

Business directory and listing outreach: We may use business contact details that a dive operator publishes on its official website to verify factual directory information and send a limited business-to-business request to review or claim that listing. Where applicable, we rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining an accurate directory and giving the listed business a way to correct or manage its public facts. We do not use private consumer contact details for this purpose, and a verification code confirms access to a contact channel only; management access and edits remain subject to staff review.

Outreach choices and suppression: A business recipient may opt out at any time by replying to the message with "unsubscribe" or by writing to marketing@diveoneclub.com. We stop further outreach to that address and retain only the minimum suppression information needed to respect the request and prevent another message.
