About this center
Wreck Academy is a specialist technical diving and wreck diving center in Sharm el-Sheikh, founded by experienced wreck diving instructors who have spent decades exploring the Red Sea's most challenging underwater sites. The center is purpose-built for divers who want to go beyond recreational wreck visits.
The Thistlegorm — arguably the world's most famous wreck — is the center's primary focus. While recreational divers see the exterior and swim through open holds, Wreck Academy offers guided penetration dives into deeper and more restricted areas of this WWII supply ship. Technical training enables access to parts of the wreck that most divers never see.
Beyond the Thistlegorm, the center operates trips to the Dunraven, Rosalie Moller, Kingston, and other wrecks accessible from Sharm el-Sheikh. The Rosalie Moller, lying in deeper water and requiring longer boat rides, is a particular specialty — this intact WWII steamer sees far fewer visitors than the Thistlegorm and offers an eerie, atmospheric dive.
Technical training covers TDI and PADI technical pathways: Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, Trimix, and specialist wreck penetration courses. Sidemount diving training is available for those transitioning to technical configurations suitable for wreck penetration.
Equipment includes twin sets, stages, reels, and wreck penetration tools. Trimix fills are available on-site. Instruction is in English and German by certified technical instructors with extensive wreck diving experience. This is a center for committed wreck diving enthusiasts, not casual tourists.
