Diving with Khao Lak Explorers was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We did three days of diving (Kon Bon, and two days at Surin/Richelieu Rock) and we had an amazing time while feeling very safe in the water. The dive center was easy to work with and very communicative, managing through many itinerary changes on our end. The dive rental equipment was in excellent condition. The boat (especially the Andaman boat for Richelieu rock) was comfortable and the boat staff was very helpful getting us in and out of the water. We loved both of our dive masters - Julien and Bruce were great! Julien has a huge passion for the sport and was great at making our group of four build confidence in the water (many of us were beginner divers). Bruce gave us clear guidance and helpful pointers on buoyancy, and pointed out some wonderful animals in the water. I would highly recommend both of them, especially for new divers.

I just came back after spending four days diving with Khao Lak Explorers, and i cannot recommend them enough!! From the initial discussions, to the booking process, to managing the logistics to teh actual dives and on board experience, everything was seamless and efficient. Theo, helped me decide where to dive on the days I was there, including Richelieu rock, which is arguably the most popular dive site in Thailand, Koh Bon and other Similan islands. Since I was not doing the liveaboard (which is hind sight was a mistake, Khao Lak explorers also do liveaboards which I highly recommend since they work out to about the same and you end up doing more dives) van pick ups from my mainland hotel and the speed boat to the dive sites was seamless and hassle free. As for the actual dives, my instructor was the wonderful Cecilia. She is extremely knowledgeable about the sites and diving in general. All briefings were clear with instructions on direction, currents and depths, she made sure everyone in the group was comfortable in the water and after the dives, and just is so much fun to be around. If you do dive with Khao Lak Explorers, you should definitely ask if she can be the one taking you for your dives cause she makes everything so easy and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed diving with her. So if you are looking for a professional and friendly shop to go diving in the Similans, get in touch with Theo, ask for Cecilia and have an absolute treat with the amazing marine life the islands have to offer. Will definitely be back next season!!

I had a lot of fun diving with Pierre. All six dives were very informative, safe, and interesting, as he showed us the highlights of the local marine life. Pierre is easy-going and friendly, but most importantly, very professional. My first dives after three years couldn’t have been more pleasant and enjoyable. I truly had an amazing time and highly recommend this school, and especially diving with Pierre. Similan & Surin islands are amazing diving spots! 💕 Cheers Dom!

I completed my Advanced Open Water course with the Khao Lak Explorer Diving Center, and it was an outstanding experience—exciting, enriching, and at times pleasantly challenging. Doing the course on a liveaboard was a fantastic decision. It eliminated long transfers to the dive sites and made the entire experience relaxed and seamless. The rental equipment was in excellent condition, brought directly from the dive center to the boat, set up for us, and tanks were refilled after every dive. Everything was handled smoothly, making the diving both comfortable and stress-free. My instructor, Pierre, was highly professional, calm, and exceptionally clear in his explanations and instructions. His passion for diving really shows. While he challenged me at times—such as having me do a backward somersault underwater during the buoyancy course—I always felt safe, supported, and confident throughout the training. Overall, the course was inspiring and motivating, and I learned a great deal. I finished it feeling like a more capable and confident diver. I can highly recommend Khao Lak Explorer Diving Center and especially Pierre.

I did the Open Water course with Nico and everything was perfect. We had a great pool for the first training session and then two amazing days at the Similan Islands. The food was excellent, the dive sites were fantastic, and spending a night on the boat is definitely worth it! All in all, it was an unforgettable first diving experience and the best instructor you could possibly imagine!! 🤩🤩🤩
