FAQ
When can you swim with humpback whales at Silver Bank?
The humpback whale season at Silver Bank runs from mid-January through mid-April, with peak activity in February and March. Approximately 5,000 North Atlantic humpback whales migrate here annually to breed and calve in the warm shallow waters. Trips are only available during this narrow window.
Do you need to scuba dive to see whales at Silver Bank?
No, whale encounters at Silver Bank are conducted as snorkelling experiences, not scuba dives. Scuba is prohibited near the whales. Participants enter the water with mask, snorkel, and fins and float quietly as whales approach on their own terms. The encounters are called 'soft in-water interactions' and the whales set the distance.
How do you get to Silver Bank in the Dominican Republic?
