Ocean Hunter III offers top-tier liveaboard diving in Palau. If your goal is serious diving, and you have the budget, you’ll likely have a fantastic experience. For casual travel or mixed non-diver companions, you might want to compare with more mixed-use boats or resort stays.
November 9, 2025We did 7 days around Palau at Ocean Hunter. Ship is amazing and it was one of the best liveaboards we have done (there are quite a few). Food was amazing and stuff very helpful and professional. We enjoyed the trip very much.
September 15, 2025The Ocean Hunter III is a top notch operation! We went there in March 2019 as an underwater photography group and had the most amazing time! The food was terrific, the divemasters were great, knowledgeable and professional, the boat and tender were super comfortable and the overall experience was nothing but fantastic. I would highly recommend booking a trip with them and enjoying the wonderful dive sites of Palau! Ran - Dive and More
May 11, 2019Ocean Hunter III is a very nice, clean, comfortable boat. The captain of the Ocean Hunter boat and of the tenders were very safe and helpful. The meals were the best we have had on any liveaboard and we have been on many. There was never a repeat meal and there were several very tasty items to choose from each day. We felt extremely safe on the boats during the entire trip. The tender that took us each dive site was the best tender I have ever been on with very comfortable seats and extra storage under each seat. I highly recommend this boat for divers who have experience finding their own subjects to photograph, and who are good at self guiding. I say this because only one of the guides who dove with us every day was willing to help find and point out small subjects for us to see and photograph. Since this trip, I have heard from several other experienced divers that they had the same experience with different dive masters on the Ocean Hunter III, which is the reason I felt it important to mention here as it was not what we were expecting. We took the initiative to help 2 new divers find subjects so that they enjoyed their dives a lot more than they would have if we would not have pointed subjects out to them. So, if you’re going to travel aboard the Ocean Hunter III, either travel with someone who is good at finding subjects or learn how to find your own before booking your trip. Other than that, I feel it was a 5 star boat.
February 27, 2024Our 1st (but not lat) trip on the Ocean Hunter 3 in Palau. It was a fantastic experience on all counts! The diving spectacular, courtesy of the place, but also of the staff choices and adaptation to local conditions. Great team of divemasters, captain (also a divemaster and very knowledgeable), kitchen staff (the best food I've yet experienced on a livaboad), and deck hand. Every last detail to make the trip perfect was observed, from the dry post-dive towels on thr chase boat, the large personal towels dried on board (yes, they have a dryer...) after every dive. The cabin was clean, spacious and cared for every morning. Charging and designated camera area, efficient crew, very handy at minor gear repair and maintenance. All in all a fantastic week. Will definately return!!
