Went on the Reefs and Wrecks liveaboard in November. Ahmad and Eric were amazing guides. The whole crew made us feel absolutely at home. They were attentive. Friendly. Helpful. Overall and absolutely great experience for our first liveaboard. I feel like we were spoiled and now all other liveaboards will have a high bar to live up to. Beds, bathrooms, and rooms were clean. Food was fantastic and we were well fed. Safety was of the utmost importance to Eric, Ahmad, and the crew. All our air (nitrox) was fantastic and never once did I feel like there was an issue with it. Other than the zodiac blowing a tube, which they had replaced and on our boat by the next day. Wonderful job everyone! (Eric didn't like getting his photo taken so I didn't include his 😜) Thank you for an amazing experience!
February 24, 2026Last week we joined our very first liveaboard trip (Reefds & Wrecks route) and we could not have chosen better than Emperor. We have been diving with Emperor for many years, so expectations were high and they were fully met and exceeded. The crew truly made the trip. Professional, attentive, helpful, and always a lot of fun. Their energy, teamwork, and positive attitude created a relaxed atmosphere both on deck and underwater. Safety is handled down to the smallest detail. Clear briefings, well-maintained equipment, and a crew that is constantly aware without ever being overbearing. This gave us complete confidence throughout the entire trip. The food was above and beyond anything we expected on a liveaboard. Fresh, varied, plentiful, and honestly one of the highlights of the week. Diving hard all day and eating this well felt almost unfair. As first-time liveaboard guests, we felt supported from start to finish, while still having plenty of freedom to enjoy the experience. A fantastic introduction to liveaboard diving and, judging by this trip, certainly not our last with Emperor. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-level diving, excellent organization, and a crew that clearly loves what they do.
January 1, 2026I had an absolutely incredible experience on the Emperor Superior last week during the Northern Reefs & Wrecks tour and cannot recommend it highly enough. I celebrated my birthday onboard, and the crew made it truly unforgettable. They surprised me with a birthday cake and a beautiful card signed by everyone in both English and Arabic. It was such a thoughtful and personal gesture. From the first day, I felt so comfortable and welcomed by this amazing crew. The diving was fantastic, the dive sites and organization were excellent, and the food was absolutely incredible. The service overall was outstanding, from the dive guides, to housekeeping, to the sailors helping with equipment and making sure everyone was taken care of. The entire team worked so hard and always with kindness and a smile. They made this trip feel incredibly special. Thank you for making my birthday and this whole experience unforgettable. I would return without hesitation, truly a 5-star experience!
May 26, 2026Being on the Emperor Asmaa was honestly like a dream. We had booked the Asmaa for the attractive price for the Wrecks and Reefs itinerary. Having never been on a liveaboard we had no expectations going into it and really just had some anxiety around the whole thing. Our fears were misplaced and we feel nothing but happiness for the experience and sadness that it is over! It was the liveaboard of a lifetime. The paperwork: all of it extremely straightforward, easy to understand and easy to complete. The read before you go document in particular covered all questions we had prior to disembarkation. The crew: everyone on board made the experience super wonderful. The captain and his first mate were extremely professional, and competent making good decisions regarding the weather, low wind areas, and limiting swell wherever possible. All of the deck crew were amazing assisting with your gear, donning and doffing, and preparing you for the dives as best as they could/as much as you required. Of particular note were the guides, Achmed-Ali and Wael. Both were so kind, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable no matter the conditions. They both made expert assessments regarding conditions, gave excellent briefings, and were very pleasant to be around. Also the salon crew Saad(?) and Zeyd; we felt as if the dining room was one of the fanciest establishments we had been to. The food: absolutely amazing, plentiful, healthful and especially delicious. It is not hard to see why food can make or break an experience on board. Everyone shared our sentiment that it was all super yummy. The freshly prepared desserts prepared by the pastry chef were also unbelievable. There was always a great amount of salads and fresh vegetables to take with every meal. The cabins: we stayed in the lower cabins (#4) and found the accommodation clean, fresh and comfortable. It had its own head and shower, hot water if you like, and the entire cabin was air conditioned. There was also a fan in the room. The bed and towels were made up routinely, and it even seemed that every time you left for a dive some part or all of your cabin was refreshed. They always always cleaned the head as well which was a super nice touch. Equipment: we had rented and found the equipment in good shape. What we supplied though was our own torches and masks since we had those, and considering the torch rental was 48 Euro/week/person it makes sense to pick one up in Hurghada prior to sailing. The boat: in its entirety it was comfortable, well kept, and spacious for us all. We were blessed to have a really good group where everyone mingled amongst each other and all got along really well. The Asmaa is a boat that can support 20 divers and we were only running with 14 so that may have made a difference in the comfort level. The briefings/drill regarding maritime safety were thorough enough without being cumbersome, and it made it clear that Emperor Divers takes safety very, very seriously. At no point did we ever feel as though something may have been an unsafe situation for the boat, crew, or her passengers. The only downside? Having to disembark. I feel melancholic already for the memories created that for sure will last a lifetime.
April 23, 2025Beautiful week long live aboard on the Emperor Superior with H and the team. 9 of us together in a group (24-32), completely mixed ability (dive masters with several hundred plus dives to people completing their advanced open water on the trip with Emperors courses). Great atmosphere, food and very helpful team throughout the week who work hard to cut down the time and get everyone into the water safely asap. Particular thanks to Hassan, the instructor who took me and three others through our advanced open water calmly, clearly and patiently. Can't recommend it enough!
