Offline Diving: How DiveOne Works Without Internet

Diving happens in places where internet doesn't reach — boats, remote reefs, cave entries. DiveOne is built for exactly this reality. Here's how it works without any connectivity.

Before the dive: no login, no sync required

Open DiveOne on your Apple Watch Ultra. Select your dive mode. The app initializes using local data only — no server check, no authentication, no internet handshake. GPS coordinates are captured using the Watch's built-in GPS (which works without cellular).

During the dive: fully local operation

Depth is sampled at 1 Hz from the hardware depth gauge. Temperature is logged continuously. Safety stop countdowns trigger at 5m ascent. All data is written to persistent local storage on the Watch in real-time. No signal of any kind is needed underwater.

After the dive: Bluetooth sync only

When you surface and your iPhone is nearby, dive data syncs via Bluetooth — not internet. The full depth profile, temperature log, timestamps, and GPS entry point transfer to the iPhone app. No cloud upload, no account required.

Export without internet

CSV export creates a local file on your iPhone. You can share it later via email, AirDrop, or any file-sharing method when you have connectivity. The export itself requires zero internet.
