Napaling Wall

Napaling Wall is a hidden gem on the remote eastern coast of Bohol, near the quiet town of Anda, far from the well-trodden dive circuits of Panglao and Balicasag. This pristine wall dive offers what many veteran Philippines divers consider the best coral health on the island — a direct consequence of the site's isolation and the minimal number of divers who make the journey to reach it. The wall begins at a shallow reef top around 5 meters and drops vertically to beyond 30 meters, covered in a spectacular display of soft corals, gorgonian sea fans, and black coral trees. The colors are vivid and the density of growth is remarkable, creating the impression of an underwater garden in full bloom. Green and hawksbill turtles are regular visitors, often seen resting on ledges or grazing on the reef flat. Schools of anthias cloud the wall face, barracuda cruise the blue water beyond the drop-off, and eagle rays occasionally glide past during the cooler months. The journey to Anda takes approximately three hours by road from Tagbilaran, which deters casual divers but rewards those who make the effort with an uncrowded, almost virgin diving experience. The few dive operations in Anda provide personalized service and intimate knowledge of the local sites. Conditions are typically calm with mild currents, and the visibility is frequently excellent, especially during the dry season months.
