Absolutely. The park offers several sites suitable for all levels, with gentle currents and depths starting at 8 metres. The Airport Reef section is especially popular for introductory dives, with sheltered conditions and abundant marine life close to the surface. Open Water certification is sufficient for most sites in the park.
What marine life can I expect at Montego Bay Marine Park?
The park is home to hawksbill turtles, nurse sharks, southern stingrays, queen angelfish, spotted moray eels, blue tangs, and dense schools of yellowtail snapper. You may also encounter barracuda, trumpet fish, and various species of parrotfish grazing on the reef.
When is the best time to dive Montego Bay Marine Park?
The dry season from December to April offers the best conditions, with calmer seas, less rain, and visibility reaching 25 metres. Diving is possible year-round, but the hurricane season from June to November can bring rough seas and reduced visibility. Water temperature stays warm at 26 to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
