About this center

Turneffe Island Resort sits on the largest atoll in Belize's offshore reef system, offering some of the most pristine and uncrowded diving in the Caribbean. The Turneffe Atoll Marine Reserve protects a vast area of reef walls, coral gardens, mangrove channels, and sand flats that together create one of the most biologically diverse marine environments in the Western Hemisphere.

The atoll's eastern wall is the signature dive experience — dramatic vertical drop-offs from 10 metres to 1,000+ metres, festooned with massive sponges, black coral trees, and sea fans. Pelagic encounters on the wall include reef sharks, eagle rays, and pods of bottlenose dolphins. The atoll's interior lagoon and mangrove channels offer a completely different experience, with juvenile marine life, seahorses, manatees, and saltwater crocodiles.

As a remote private-island resort, Turneffe limits guest numbers, ensuring uncrowded dive sites and personalised service. PADI courses are available, and unlimited boat diving is typically included in resort packages. The experience is for divers seeking genuine remoteness and pristine conditions.
