About this center

Channel Islands Dive Adventures operates boat-based diving excursions from Santa Barbara Harbor to the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, one of the most biologically productive marine environments on the Pacific Coast. Multi-dive day trips and overnight expeditions visit Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, and San Miguel Islands.

The Channel Islands offer a diving experience unlike anywhere else in California. Giant kelp forests rise from rocky reefs, creating cathedral-like underwater cathedrals where harbour seals, California sea lions, horn sharks, angel sharks, and giant black sea bass patrol. The nutrient-rich waters support extraordinary invertebrate diversity — Spanish shawl nudibranchs, spiny lobsters, and colourful anemones carpet every surface. Visibility ranges from 10-30+ metres depending on conditions.

The operation runs purpose-built dive boats equipped for extended trips, with heated decks, hot showers, and full galley service. Technical diving is supported with nitrox and deep-diving capabilities. The Channel Islands' remote location means minimal development and pristine conditions — it's like diving California as it was decades ago.
