About this center

Seattle Scuba is the Pacific Northwest's go-to dive centre, providing access to the incredible cold-water diving of Puget Sound. The nutrient-rich waters of the Salish Sea support one of the most diverse temperate marine ecosystems in the world, and the diving here rivals any tropical destination for sheer density of marine life.

Popular dive sites include Alki Beach (shore entry), Edmonds Underwater Park (a protected marine sanctuary), Keystone Jetty, and the various islands of the San Juan archipelago. Signature species include the giant Pacific octopus — intelligent and curious creatures that grow up to 5 metres across — wolf eels, Puget Sound king crab, basket stars, and colourful forests of plumose anemones. Harbor seals and Steller sea lions frequently join divers.

The centre holds PADI and SSI certifications and specialises in cold-water diving education. All courses include dry suit instruction, which is essential in Puget Sound's 7-12°C waters. The shop has a heated pool for confined water training and carries a comprehensive selection of cold-water equipment. Guided shore dives and boat charters run year-round.
