About this center
PADI center at Ras Sudr — closest Sinai diving to Cairo. Shore diving, beginner-friendly, weekend getaway destination.
Seaduction Diving operates from Ras Sudr on the western coast of the Sinai Peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Suez. Ras Sudr is one of the closest diving destinations to Cairo — just a 2.5-hour drive through the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel — making it popular for weekend getaways from the capital.
The diving at Ras Sudr is different from the more famous Red Sea destinations. The Gulf of Suez has cooler, more nutrient-rich water than the Gulf of Aqaba, resulting in different marine life patterns. The reefs are less dramatic than Sharm or Dahab but offer interesting diving with good coral growth and a mix of Red Sea and Mediterranean species.
Shore diving from the local beaches provides access to reef slopes and sandy patches where cuttlefish, stingrays, and various reef fish are commonly found. The conditions are generally calm and suitable for beginners, making Ras Sudr an excellent introduction to Red Sea diving.
PADI courses are offered in English and Arabic, from Discover Scuba through Advanced Open Water. The center serves both international visitors and Cairo-based Egyptian divers who come for weekend diving.
Ras Sudr is also renowned for kitesurfing, and the area attracts a multi-sport crowd. The relaxed beach atmosphere and proximity to Cairo make it a practical choice for those who cannot commit to the longer journey to Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh. After diving, guests can enjoy the stunning Sinai desert sunsets from beachfront camps and hotels.
