Mediterranean Dive Center (MDC) is one of Athens' most distinguished dive operations, located in the Kastella neighborhood of Piraeus with direct access to the Saronic Gulf. Awarded the highest PADI distinction — the 5-Star IDC Center designation — MDC has been training divers and exploring the waters around Athens and the Attica coastline for decades.

The Saronic Gulf and broader Attica coastline offer surprisingly rich diving for a major metropolitan area. Dive sites range from historical wreck sites and artificial reefs to natural rocky coastlines, underwater caves, and the marine-rich waters around the offshore islands. The proximity to Aegina, Hydra, and the eastern Attica coast provides access to diverse underwater environments within easy reach of central Athens.

As a PADI IDC Center, MDC offers the complete educational pathway from introductory Discover Scuba Diving through to Instructor Development Courses. The center specializes in comprehensive training with a strong emphasis on safety, technical proficiency, and environmental awareness. Specialty courses cover Deep, Wreck, Nitrox, Night diving, Underwater Photography, and Search and Recovery.

The center operates from a purpose-built facility in Piraeus with classroom space, equipment storage and maintenance facilities, and easy access to the waterfront. Unlike seasonal island dive centers, MDC operates year-round, taking advantage of mild Mediterranean winters for off-season diving and continued training programs.
