About this center

ISSA Diving Center is a pioneering dive operation that launched in 1996 as the first and only diving center on the remote island of Vis, off the Dalmatian coast near Split. Located in the very heart of Komiža on a lovely pebble beach in front of the Biševo Hotel, the center has built a legendary reputation for exploring the extraordinary underwater world of one of Croatia's most pristine marine environments.

Affiliated with SDI and TDI, ISSA specializes in diving experiences that showcase the unique character of Vis: wreck diving on historic vessels, cave exploration including the famous Blue Cave of Biševo, archaeological dives with ancient amphora sites, and encounters with abundant Mediterranean marine life. A signature 7-day, 10-dive package costs 400 EUR and includes 3 wreck dives, 3 cave dives, 3 flora and fauna dives, and 1 archaeological dive — with transport, divemaster, full 15L tank, and weight belt included.

The island of Vis was a military zone closed to tourism until 1989, which preserved its underwater environment in remarkably pristine condition. Recreational divers can explore shallow wrecks like the Fortunal and the 236-foot steamship Teti, along with shallow caverns and archaeological sites scattered across the seabed.

The multilingual team speaks an impressive seven languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Russian. This linguistic diversity reflects the international diving community drawn to Vis for its unique combination of remote beauty and exceptional dive sites.
