About this center

Cape Town dive centre with kelp forest dives, Cape fur seal encounters, and Seven Seas wreck diving.

Indigo Scuba Diving Centre operates from Simon's Town, providing access to Cape Town's unique cold-water diving ecosystem where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans converge. The meeting of these two great currents creates one of the most nutrient-rich marine environments on Earth, supporting kelp forests, seal colonies, and an astonishing variety of marine life.

Signature experiences include swimming with Cape fur seals at Partridge Point — playful, curious animals that zip around divers in underwater acrobatics. The dense kelp forests of the Cape Peninsula create atmospheric underwater cathedrals filtered with green light, home to shy pajama catsharks, cowsharks, octopus, and cuttlefish. Wreck diving is another highlight, with ships like the SAS Pietermaritzburg and several older wrecks scattered around the rocky coastline.

The centre holds PADI and SSI certifications and specialises in cold-water diving education, including dry suit training essential for Cape Town's 8-16°C water temperatures. While the water is cold, the experience is extraordinary — few places offer such a concentration of unique marine species in such dramatic underwater scenery.
