About this center
Hippocampus Diving Center is located in the campsite Stoja in Pula, on the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula, just minutes from the historic city center. Surrounded by lush pine forest and situated next to a pebble beach, the center offers an ideal environment for both beginners and experienced divers seeking to explore the rich underwater world of the northern Adriatic.
The center is affiliated with SSI and CMAS, offering courses from introductory Try Scuba programs through advanced specialties. Divers can explore some of the most famous shipwrecks in Istrian waters, including the legendary Baron Gautsch — a passenger steamship that sank in 1914 and now rests at 40 meters depth — as well as the Vis, Submarine, Varese, and Draga wrecks.
Facilities include lockers, WiFi, a bar area, and a full equipment rental service with well-maintained gear. Nitrox fills are available for certified enriched air divers. Boat dives depart regularly to wreck sites and reef locations along the Istrian coast. The multilingual team speaks English, German, Italian, and Croatian, ensuring a comfortable experience for the center's diverse international clientele.
House reef dives are available for guided exploration directly from the beach, making this an excellent option for training dives and relaxed afternoon sessions. Guided boat dives cost from 48 EUR, while house reef dives start at 40 EUR.
