About this center

PADI 5-Star IDC Center in Rethymno with professional-level training, WWII aircraft wreck dives, and multilingual instruction.

Evelin Dive Center is a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center established in 2012 in the Rethymno area of Crete. The center maintains an information office in Platanias-Rethymno while its main diving base is located at Kalivaki Beach in Georgioupolis, offering access to some of central-western Crete's finest underwater terrain.

As a PADI IDC Center, Evelin Dive Center stands among the elite dive operations on Crete, authorized to train diving professionals through the full PADI instructor development pathway. This professional pedigree translates into exceptionally high standards for recreational divers as well — from first-timer programs to advanced specialty courses.

The dive sites in the Georgioupolis and Rethymno area feature a fascinating mix of reef walls, sandy bottoms with Posidonia meadows, small caves and overhangs, and a World War II Junkers Ju 88 German bomber wreck that sits on the seabed offshore. This aircraft wreck is a unique highlight for history-minded divers and provides an atmospheric dive experience unlike any reef or wall dive.

Courses range from Discover Scuba Diving for absolute beginners through to Divemaster and Instructor Development programs. The multilingual team speaks English, Greek, German, and Dutch, reflecting the diverse European clientele who visit Rethymno each summer. Equipment is top-quality, regularly serviced, and included in most programs.

The center is known for its personal service, expert instruction, and genuine passion for sharing the underwater world of Crete with visitors.
