About this center
Safaga-based PADI center with daily boat access to Panorama Reef, Salem Express wreck, and Abu Kafan. Quieter alternative to Hurghada.
Dive Point Red Sea operates from the small port town of Safaga, about 60 kilometers south of Hurghada. Safaga has long been a launching point for some of the Red Sea's most spectacular offshore diving, and this center makes full use of its geographic advantage.
Daily boat trips reach the renowned reefs of Panorama Reef, Middle Reef, Abu Kafan, and the Salem Express wreck. Panorama Reef in particular is considered one of the finest dive sites in the Egyptian Red Sea, with dramatic walls, large schools of barracuda and trevally, and frequent visits from grey reef sharks. The Salem Express, lying at 10-33 meters, is one of the most atmospheric wreck dives in the region.
The center caters primarily to German and English-speaking divers, with instruction available in both languages. PADI courses from Discover Scuba through Advanced Open Water are offered, along with specialty certifications in Deep, Wreck, and Enriched Air Nitrox.
Safaga's position further south along the coast means warmer water temperatures than Hurghada and access to dive sites that see fewer visitors. The town itself is a quiet, authentic Egyptian port town without the heavy development of the larger resort areas.
Full equipment rental is available with well-maintained gear. Partnerships with local hotels allow for convenient dive-and-stay packages. The center's boats are comfortable and equipped with safety gear including oxygen and first aid kits.
