About this center
Cabo Pulmo Marine Park Divers operates within one of the world's greatest marine conservation success stories. After the local community voted to ban fishing in 1995, Cabo Pulmo's reef system has recovered spectacularly — marine biomass has increased by over 460%, creating an underwater experience unlike anything else in the Sea of Cortez.
The signature dive is El Bajo: a massive tornado of bigeye jacks numbering in the thousands, swirling in a vortex visible from the surface. Bull sharks cruise the deeper sites, while mobula rays form huge aggregations in season. The reef itself — the only living coral reef in the Sea of Cortez — hosts groupers, snappers, and moray eels in numbers rarely seen elsewhere.
PADI courses from Open Water through Advanced. Freediving and snorkeling excursions allow non-divers to experience the park's abundance. Photography assistance available. The remote desert location requires advance booking — limited infrastructure but unlimited marine life.
