Anthony's Key Resort

Anthony's Key Resort is a legendary dive resort on Roatan's northwestern shore in Sandy Bay, operating since 1964 — making it one of the oldest dive operations in the Bay Islands and a pioneer of Caribbean dive tourism. The resort occupies a private key (small island) connected to the main island by a bridge, creating an exclusive, tropical retreat unlike any other dive destination in Honduras.

The resort is perhaps best known for its Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences (RIMS), which houses a community of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Guests can participate in unique dolphin encounter and dolphin dive programs, swimming and diving alongside these intelligent marine mammals in their natural ocean environment — an experience offered at very few places in the world.

Diving at Anthony's Key accesses the pristine reefs around Sandy Bay, which many consider the healthiest and least-dived sections of Roatan's reef system. The house reef is excellent, and boat dives reach sites across the island's north shore. With decades of marine conservation commitment, the resort has helped protect these reefs, resulting in vibrant coral coverage and rich biodiversity.

Accommodation consists of rustic-chic wooden bungalows nestled among tropical gardens, with rooms on both the key and the hillside overlooking the bay. The resort includes a pool, restaurant, beach, kayaks, and nature trails through the surrounding jungle. PADI courses from beginner through professional levels are offered, with specialty courses including the unique dolphin dive experience.
