We spent one unforgettable week on our first liveaboard trip in Egypt aboard the Grand Discovery, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the very first day, the guides and entire crew welcomed everyone with warm smiles and genuine kindness. The boat was clean and comfortable, the food was excellent every single day — so good that I’m pretty sure I returned home with a few extra kilos, but it was absolutely worth it — and there was always someone ready to help whenever needed. The crew also created such a relaxed and positive atmosphere on board that it truly felt special. As relatively new liveaboard divers, it meant a lot to have guides who were patient, calm, professional, and encouraging throughout the trip. We always felt safe and well taken care of underwater and on the boat. Special thanks to our private guide, Bassam, for his patience, calm attitude, encouragement, and professionalism throughout the week. Having such a supportive guide made the experience even more enjoyable and helped build confidence underwater. The diving, organization, hospitality, and overall atmosphere made this an experience we will remember for a very long time. Huge thanks to the entire Grand Discovery team for making our first Red Sea liveaboard so enjoyable and memorable. We definitely hope to come back again for another trip in the future.
22 мая 2026 г.The Red Sea had been a bucket list destination for my partner and I so we booked a tour with discovery in October 2025. Working in coral restoration and caring about the health of the reef, we were so excited to come see reefs where there were areas with 100% coral cover. The boat crew was nice, the food was great, and the accommodations were good. The dive sites were incredible and we had an amazing time on this trip. The reason I give this a one star is because there were two things we witnessed that ruined our trip. First, the boat was dumping our raw sewage directly onto the beautiful reef sites. For those who don’t know, sewage increases the nutrients in the water, causing a number of problems for the reef including coral disease, eutrophication, and more. We also witnessed the crew throwing bags of trash into the ocean which was extremely disappointing. When we tried to ask one of the crew members about the sewage and trash, they dismissed it and pretended like it wasn’t happening. It is extremely disheartening and sad to see that companies like this are ruining the beautiful reefs left in this world. If they continue treating their reefs like this, they will no longer look the way that they do. As divers, we need to make sure that the companies we are supporting are not further damaging the reefs and doing their due diligence to protect them. This was my first live aboard and I have since researched that this is extremely common of many live aboards, especially in Egypt. Please do your research and find a company that cares more about the health of the reef. Discovery Divers needs to do better in handling sewage and waste material from the boats.
4 марта 2026 г.Unprofessional, rude, not knowing any standards, interrupting course of the staff instructor, discriminating women, ripped my phone of my hands because I wanted to get a photo of proof that I payed. They dont know the difference between smb and dsmb, they let people be entangled with the rope from smb and reel attached to a simple buoy and beginners are tangled by their necks and fins. At the final Day when I wanted to take a photo of payment khalid almost hit me. Zero safety briefings, they last for about two minutes. Avoid if you vakue safety and wuality.
2 мая 2025 г.I booked a cruise during Covid and despite lockdown and inability to fly, they simply insisted that their cruise was still operating and refuse to allow any deferment and insisted on forfeiting payments made. The cancellation was made in March 2020 for an October 2020 trip. Clearly with sufficient forewarning. They are highly inflexible operators.
8 апреля 2023 г.have been diving for forty years, and this was one of the most disappointing safety experiences I have ever encountered. After becoming separated from the boat, I sought assistance from a nearby vessel. Instead of receiving immediate help, I was told to swim back through open water despite active boat traffic in the area. When I finally reached the boat, I was met not with concern but with hostility. During the boarding process, I was struck with a fin by a member of the staff. Apologies were offered later, but they cannot erase what happened. What concerns me most is not my own experience. I returned home safely. A less experienced diver might not have. Safety culture is revealed when things go wrong, not when everything goes according to plan. Unfortunately, my experience left me questioning that culture.
