About this center
Wadi Gimal Diving Center operates near the Wadi El Gemal National Park, one of the most ecologically significant protected areas on the Egyptian Red Sea coast. Located well south of Marsa Alam, the center provides access to some of the most remote and pristine diving in Egypt.
The Wadi El Gemal coastline features fringing reefs that are among the healthiest in the entire Red Sea. The national park protection limits development and fishing, resulting in extraordinary coral diversity and marine life density. The house reef offers encounters with green turtles, hawksbill turtles, dugongs, and dolphins.
Boat trips reach offshore reefs within the park boundaries and beyond. Sataya reef (Dolphin House South) is famous for its resident pod of hundreds of spinner dolphins. Sha'ab Maksur and other remote reef systems offer wall diving with pelagic encounters. The area around Hamata provides access to the remote Fury Shoals and St. John's reef systems.
PADI courses are offered in English, German, and Italian with a strong emphasis on marine ecology and conservation. The center runs a PADI Naturalist specialty course that educates divers about the unique ecosystems of the southern Red Sea and the importance of the Wadi El Gemal marine protected area.
This is diving for those who want to experience the Red Sea at its most wild and pristine. The location is remote, facilities are simple, but the underwater experience is among the best Egypt has to offer.
